  • I down-rated maybe two people since i have started and that was 8 or 9 months ago. The answers were offensive and rude and it was before I knew what flagging was.
  • When something was offensive.. not like people DR questions that are good to know but maybe they knew the answers!
  • I never have.
  • I only DR someone being rude, offensive, abusive....and I actually came across someone yesterday being extremely nasty. That's quite common in a few of the forums I frequent.
  • Gosh, I think it was when Chub Daddy was still on the loose! Everything out of that user's mouth was incredibly offensive, so I DR'd him/her until I realized it was an attempt to crash the site.
  • I think I down rated someone yesterday for a gibberish answer. It was just "al;skdjf" or something like that.
  • I think it was in October. An anonymous ABer flagged one of the Blank Savage tribute questions as nonsense. This ABer admitted it and had a rating of somewhere near -50.
  • I had only DRed like 2 times since I started, but today I happen to run across an incredibly offensive response and thought a DR was called for.
  • I never DR. If an answer is nonsense, spam, or blatantly offensive, I simply flag it and move on. I ran across an answer just a little while ago that I thought was nasty. It was offensive to ME, but acceptable by AB standards. So, I just walked on by and uprated the good answers so that one would sink to lowly bottom of the pile. :)
  • Never. Zero. Zilch..no reason to DR. You either flag or ignore you don't need to DR! Just my opinion! :)
  • Recently I downrated an answer on the basis of its insensitivity towards a person's grief. Was it offensive and merited a flag instead? Maybe, but that one really got on my nerves.
  • Oh gee, it was so long ago. I think it was a rabbit question where an answer was wrong and it was the top answer. So I DRed them to get it down a bit and I uprated those that were correct.
  • I did it like twice, by accident, was going too fast. Then I told the person about it. Otherwise, I never intentionally derep anyone. I've flagged stuff, it's a lot more useful that way, if it's offensive as a whole, and I can't very well derep someone because they have an opinion on something, despite how insulting it might be.
  • Okay, so I don't downrate usually. But yesterday. It was an answer saying teenage girls are asking to be raped by wearing a bikini in public. I found that personally offensive, so I downrated it.
  • Have never given a negative rating. Am content to rate: +2, +1 or zero.
  • I don't think I ever have.
  • Last night. For a factually incorrect answer that they refused to change.
  • About 18 months ago before I realised that you were supposed to flag spammers not DR them. I have NEVER DR another user. If I disagree I leave a comment or move on. I do not believe my opinion is superior to other members so why should I DR them because I do not agree.
  • I may have downrated like, once, when some troll claimed that one of my AB friends was dead.
  • I never have, nor will I. I feel everyone is entitled to their opinions. I think flagging serves a better purpose if it is something that offends you. Not to say, that I haven't been upset by some answers and comments but I handle it by exiting the conversation.I don't think downrating serves any good purpose.
