  • They were voted in by the fans because they're having an all-star year, so it was done democratically and I would say it would be unfair if someone that was having a worse year was voted in instead.

  • It is definitely not fair that 7 Red Sox and 7 Cubs are in this years All-Star game because some of them have not earned those votes. Jason Varitek, for example, is having a dismal season. He's stats are horrible: .215 AVG 7 HRS 27 RBI's .297 OBP, .354 SLG. Those are not All-Star numbers. The only reason why players like Varitek made it to the All-Star game was because the only games shown on national television always have the same teams playing. When was the last time you saw a national televised game without the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, New Mets, or the Chicago Cubs being atleast one of the teams? That is bullsh*t.
