That does seem like a good idea. It would take me some time to get used to using the numberpad with my left hand but it would probably end up being more efficient. Until the manufacturers realize the error of their ways, you can do it yourself. As a right handed accountant, I can't imagine having my number pad on the left. I probably use the numberpad as much or more than the alpha keyboard during work hours. (Except when I'm on AB :-)

Actually, I think that all keyboards should be modular, so that you can arrange all the units as you want them, the space bar, the function keys, the arrows, etc. Why stop only part-way by moving only the numpad? -- By modular, I meant that each section could be attached anyway to the rest so that you still have a one piece keyboard, but the sections might be positioned to your preference.
