My vcr is acting weird. It shuts off and then I push rewind and it eats the tape. What is wrong?

probably a belt has busted. you could probably fix it yourself with a screw driver and a trip to radio shack.

In answer to m1tk44 try this ,get a VCR and see if you can play it on a DVD ?
