  • Quadratic equations are used very much in plotting or describing projectile motion. When you shoot a cannon ball from a cannon into the air or when you pitch a base ball up in the air... they both follow a path which can, for the most part, be describe with a quadratic equation. The motion can be affected by the friction with the air or by the rotation of the Earth, but in many cases, these effects are not significant enough.
