You could try sauteing it in a little olive oil, or shish kebobing it. Spraying it with a little oil helps to keep it from sticking to the grill and adds flavor. If I answered this twice it's because they made me register to answer... Best

Don't. LoL. Just joking, because I really don't like mushrooms.
-
Grilling it, or sauteing it in coconut oil, cooking in olive oil destroys the healthy omega-3 fats in that oil.

If the sandwich bread is big enough you could add this: Portobello Mushroom caps, cleaned and stems removed Extra virgin olive oil Tomato sauce, homemade or good quality purchased Grated cheeses: fresh mozzarella, provolone, Parmesan, Locatelli, cheddar, etc. Freshly chopped herbs Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Rub the portobello with extra virgin olive oil and place gill side up on the baking sheet. Bake for 7 minutes to soften. Remove from the oven and let cool. Pour off any juices. Top each roasted portobello with some tomato sauce and then grated cheese. Return to oven and bake until the sauce is bubbly and the cheese is melted. Sprinkle with freshly chopped herbs and serve immediately. You could also make a delicious pizza with this and use it as sauce to add to a prebaked pizza crust. Regards.

I'd go with thinly sliced raw, and just a little, it has a pretty strong aroma/taste. Unless you get them dried, which is a whole another story and I wouldn't use them in a sandwich at all.

you could try seasoning it and putting it on the barbecue or on the pan with some olive oil

Chopped and fried with cheese and egg.

Marinade it for a while and grill it on the BBQ

I marinate it in teriyaki and throw it on my George Foreman grill for a couple of minutes (you could use a gas or charcoal grill, too), and prepare a delicious garlic mayonnaise. Put it on a cracked-wheat bun and you have an amazing meal.
