Can anyone recommend a great gfx card for doom 3? i would love it to be under $100. newegg is a good website! i have a pci-e slot. please help me out.

512 MB GF 8500 GT 512 MB GF 8600 GT XFX Both the above cards use nvidia chipsets, are pretty descent and come under $100 or so.

Both of the 1 GB versions of those 8500/8600s are really good. I don't really have any experience with doom, but I can run games like Supreme commander (with my 8600GT XFX fatal1ty) on a 3v3 map without any lag (maxed out settings). I was getting around 20-30 FPS zoomed in to may base.

With a slight over-clock on that, you can reach 8800 GTX performance, and if you have some crazy cooling, you can even go up to 8800 ultra performance.
