Help answer this question below.

I have been divorced sinced 1999, I would like to file for spousal support backpayments for the time I was married of 15 years can this happen in Washington, D.C.? Is there any limitations to when I decide to attest spousal support payments?

    Unless you were just divorced and had an attorney who committed malpractice (which is possible if s/he did not file for this when it was due you at the time), this is highly unlikely to occur. Even then, the odds are not in your favour. Sorry!

    I don't think you can or should be able to collect support for the past 9 years. Whether it would be legal or not, I don't know. But your ex is just that, your ex. How long do you expect that person to pay your way in life?

    Why all of a sudden do you want back spousal support? That doesn't make any sense? Are you trying to suck money out of someone that you don't deserve or are you bitter about something. Look, you gave this man 15 years of your life and it been over for almost 10 years now, why are you still trying to ask him for money? Do you think he owes you something? He doesn't. Move on with your life, take vacations and get over this person. Don't waste your thoughts on him becuase I guarentee he isn't wasting his on you.
