1)Single pole switch= Is a switch that connects on contact together. It is either OPEN or CLOSED. 2)Three way switch= They work in pairs by switching the wire (A wire or B wire) power travels on between the two switches. It is called a three way because of the three possible switch positions. They are as follows: Switch positions: A:A Light on Switch positions: B:B Light on Switch positions: A:B Light off As along as the switch position agree the light is on. 3)Four way switch: This switch will sit between two three way switches and will reverse the wires to one of the three way switches. So if we use the three possible positions of the three way again and reversed the wires you would get the opposite out come.
