Well, you need to have a strong idea. Problems start to turn out when you have general ideas, that can be cool, but you are not working on a structure that allows you to put your ideas into written words.
I was thinking about the problems I have writing (the book I'm working on is very hard), and found out that the only way to start is by gathering all the ideas in one place, and not the finished book. I mean, no way you are going to write before you know where you will end!
