  • See if the fuses responsible for these circuits get the current (measure the voltage between the fuse and ground). If they don't, check the relays upstream and the main light switch. If they do, you probably have a torn wire downstream.
  • Light switch has a "Dimmer Control" that just may cause both problems as U need to replace the whole "Light Switch" as a unit. Before swapping, remove & replace several times the plug to the switch as it may just be a bad connection. If U have a "Book" on it & an "Ohm Meter",U can test it B4 U buy new. John
  • I just had the same problem on my 1993 Chevy PU 1500. I changed the headlight switch and that corrected the problem for the rear tail lights. My dash light is still out so tomorrow I am replacing the dimmer switch. Each part was only $13.99.
