How much money should be spent on your child's birthday gift?? What is reasonable in your opinion?

depens on your income and the kids age... are u including the costs of the party in the gift? The "gift" itself should be 50 or under, with the exception of a specialty item like a game console or a video game for the console... then its a once in a while thing and you can spend 500 or so every year. But on a normal basis, keep it around 55ish i'd say.
