I've heard that said too.But even though my dog is cute and adorable like myself, he does have features that don't resemble his owner,like huge bulging eyes,a squashed in face,4 legs,a tail that curls over his back,and terrible "vocals".

it's pretty true, but it's more like, "owners chose pets that look like them". People seem to gravitate towards dogs that resemble themselves.

I think that people start to mimic the mannerism of their dogs, or viceversa. My dog just came to us one night and stayed. He has started acting just like all the rest of the family. Fits right in. People think we are blood related. We don't tell them any different.
