  • I recently saw a news promo for a story about older people that had pet monkeys instead of say dogs and cats. That they treated like their children. Did you happen to catch that?
  • Never, Spider Monkeys are like having teenagers for their entire lifespan. They don't live but 27 - 33 years. They are cute and become quite loyal, but there are so many restrictions as to where you can take them, and foriegn travel is totally out. In the end their novelty is outweighed by the hassles.
  • Oh goodness no. I travel in Bali and there are plenty of monkeys there. They are thieves, wife beaters and not nice in any way at all. I would not trust a monkey as far as I could throw it. While I was eating with a group of schoolchildren one day, the pet monkey of the restaurant began to rape a kitten it had caught. And kept doing so, until I quietly called attention to it. The poor kitten was screaming in pain. I have seen them attack people because they THINK there is food in their pockets. I have seen them drop out of trees onto people's backs. I have had them lunge at me while I was feeding them and steal everything. I have seen the males beat up the females and the babies if they think that they are not getting fed first. Give me a child any time. You can train a child. You can't train a monkey. They are horrid creatures.
  • No monkey for me. I have a teenager, that's all the monkey business I can handle.
  • Well, you've asked me to adopt you (God knows why).....which would I be getting:)
  • Oh without a doubt. They would be so much easier to take care of and provide me with constant entertainment.
