Does anyone know where I can find a essay written by Garry Kasparov about how chess is the the most violent sport in the world? I heard it used to be on the Playboy website.

I don't know about an essay, but he wrote a book called "How Life Imitates Chess" that sounds like it could be or have in it what you're looking for. He wrote many other books--you can find a complete bibliography on Wikipedia. I couldn't find an online version of this book, but you could try your local library.

I searched his name in a large, multi-database search engine of literally thousands of journals, and I only found what Veta mentioned: "How Life Imitates Chess". Admittedly a more thorough search might turn something up, but I think that that might be your best bet. Perhaps it was an extract or chapter that you saw included?
