Picard. Kirk would be all theatrical and make a lot of Kung-fu moves, while Picard would quietly wait for his adversary to be in the best position and, pow, right in the kisser! It's the knowledegable, quiet wise dudes that you've got to watch out for.

Kirk was the baddest mofo in the history of the future. I once saw him take out an entire busload of Klingons in a drunken rage. I still don't know where the Klingons got hold of a bus but Kirk whooped each one as they stepped out the emergency exit. It was awesome.

Picard could stomp on Kirk, he's smarter and less headstrong. And anyhow, he could always call on Worf or Data for backup. Who's James T. gonna call? Mr. Chekov? Please!

Kirk because he had more machismo and fighting ability but if it came to an intellectual showdown then Picard would win hands down since he wouldn't need to use his hands in armed combat unless it was to fire a phaser.
