When stopping for a short period of time in your car, will you save more gas by keeping the car on, or turning the car off then turning it on?

Having the engine running while not moving is 0 miles to the gallon. With today's modern fuel injection, restarts don't use up extra fuel like the old days when cars may run on partial choke for a while after being restarted. I would always shut car off.

If it is more than a minute, you will save gas. Then again, you wear your starter out faster.

It will cost you more gasoline when you turn of and on than keeping the motor roaring. Thats logic
