  • Having the engine running while not moving is 0 miles to the gallon. With today's modern fuel injection, restarts don't use up extra fuel like the old days when cars may run on partial choke for a while after being restarted. I would always shut car off.
  • If it is more than a minute, you will save gas. Then again, you wear your starter out faster.
  • It will cost you more gasoline when you turn of and on than keeping the motor roaring. Thats logic
