The longest i left my hair unwash is probably 1.5wks. I didn't feel it cleaned itself. My hair only felt greasier, dirtier and itchier by the day. It felt disgusting and all i knew was it needed washing, and i couldn't wait any longer for that day to come!

It is not good for it. Depends on what you mean by a long time. Some people wash their hair every day. I do mine every other because it does dry your scalp out and I have dry skin. Dirty stinky hair is gross.

i heard somewhere that your hair will self clean after 20 days,200 days or whatever(dont know how long)how it cleans i dont know,well guess i dont know much except that i will wash daily.

My mom used to wash my hair once a week when I was a kid I have short hair now so it gets oily fast. I try to do it every other day (usually Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays). Maybe people with long hair can get away with shampooing less frequently, but I will leave that for them to answer.
