  • I dont believe so , a gift is a gift and cannot be taken back. If you are really in Christ you will always come back. God is merciful!!!
  • Yes! Only a true Christian can backslide. A non-christian has nothing to backslide from. All Christians backslide and sin to some degree. If you had to remain perfect until you die then you are trying to earn your way to heaven. You can't do that. Try not to backslide, but when you do, pick yourself up and move onward. Don't buy into the lie that "true Christians don't backslide". Peter backslid to the point of flatly denying Jesus. Peter will be in heaven with you.
  • If you truly accepted Christ into your heart, and "backslide" the only way you will not go to heaven is if you reject Christ and say He is a lier. All other sins are forgiven. Now do me a favor, define backslide. Are you saying from a Biblical writen law or from a church dogma and law. There is a very great difference. Churches call many things sin that are NOT sin in the Bible. You have to know the difference.
  • Yes. Just as the physical body needs nourishment for health and growth, so does the spiritual body.
  • though I am an atheist now I was raised Baptist and on the beliefs I was raised on once you are saved and baptised you are going to heaven no matter what you do, even if you backslide, even if you renounce god...no matter what you have a ticket in..though technically you are still supposed to be good and be repentent of your sins but ya, you are in like flynn if you are baptist.
  • no such thing as "once saved always saved"
  • A "once saved, always saved" Christian would say that no matter how badly you backslid that you cannot lose your salvation. Catholics do not believe in "once saved, always saved." We believe that you can freely reject your salvation and totally turn away from God by choosing to commit mortal sin. We believe that people die in their venial (not mortal) sins all the time and still go to heaven. 1 John 5:16-17 - If anyone sees his brother sinning, if the sin is not deadly, he should pray to God and he will give him life. This is only for those whose sin is not deadly. There is such a thing as deadly sin, about which I do not say that you should pray. All wrongdoing is sin, but there is sin that is not deadly. Catholics believe: Mortal sin is a grave infraction of the law of God that destroys the divine life in the soul of the sinner (sanctifying grace), constituting a turn away from God. For a sin to be mortal, three conditions must be present: grave matter, full knowledge of the evil of the act, and full consent of the will. Venial sin is a sin which does not destroy the divine life in the soul, as does mortal sin, though it diminishes and wounds it. Venial sin is the failure to observe necessary moderation, in lesser matters of the moral law, or in grave matters acting without full knowledge or complete consent. But continual venial sin can slowly but surely totally separate you from God, placing you into the state of mortal sin. • Most people do fall back time to time. When I did that was my greatest time seeing God's love . See I was condemning myself and he sent others who I did not know to tell me not to do that. He loves me. Wow, my hands would burn with healing for the sick. I could not understand about how he gives us gifts without repentance. What a great God. His love for me was what caused me to turn from my sin and back to him. We will always go back we can not hide. Because in him we live and move and have our being. He is awesome and is so forgiving. I love Jesus soooooo much.
  • Well the only way you can make it to heaven is if you Repent of your sins, get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and then rceive the Holy Ghost. Read Acts 2:38. If you have obeyed this and you backslide then you MUST repent in order to make it to heaven.- Rosa
  • Everyone Sins after accepting Christ & many die in a state of sin but will be right there in Heaven!!! Christ makes Us Righteous not Perfect! John
