  • Sadly, I am not aristocratic and therefore have no claims to be a Lady- whether I'm a lady is a matter of some dispute, although I think my etiquette is reasonably refined. Fuschia isn't actually a reference to the flower at all- it's my middle name (I know, its weird, my parents are!) "Lady Fuschia" is a name I've been using for various purposes since reading Mervyn Peake's "Gormenghast" novels (which were televised a few years ago too) as they feature a character called Lady Fuschia Groan who has a brief romance with the anti-hero Steerpike (one of those literary characters I've always found inexplicably attractive). The name sort of stuck in my head after that, and I've been Lady Fuschia online ever since.
  • When I first saw your username I thought that it may have come from a character somewhere, but never read or saw 'Gormenghast' so missed the reference. I would not have guessed you middle name being used, though. If it's alright by you I will continue to think of you as a Lady (slightly eccentric and wearing dresses that are a touch too frilly) who tends to her garden as a first love, with cats playing around on the grass. I have come to associate you with sunshine, in the same way I associate boredasmustard with a slightly grey day. I feel for her, in many ways, as she is starting out on life's journey and already has so many issues. Still, we can help put that right. For now m'Lady, adieu (it's lunch time).
