  • Easily, yes, I cant imagine how there couldnt be
  • Not necessarily like ours, because that would imply that living conditions should have to be very similar to Earth. I do think however, that it is quite likely that there are other life forms in other galaxies. We will only never really meet them because the distance is plainly too big.
  • Yes, I do. I'm not sure how much "like ours" it would look, but I definitely believe life exists elsewhere.
  • Life is based on a set of Environmental Conditions and Factors IF those Conditions exist then Life will Exist, how far they have Evolved on the evolutionary path is another matter but a single celled organism is LIFE, and I truly doubt that those Conditions for life do not exist in other parts of the solar system, galaxy or universe. the numbers are stacked in favor of LIFE in the Universe.. So no I do not BELIEVE there is other Life in the Universe, I KNOW there is other life in the Universe. ~Nemo~
  • With just the known galaxies in the Universe, disregarding the unknown ones, it's hard to not believe that some kind of life exists beyond our planet.
  • Yes. When you say 'like ours' however people do not generally fully understand what 'like us' actually means. Its obvious that an alien race would not have evolved from an ape, and its also obvious that an alien race would not have the same facial attributes as we do...but- Aliens would be 'like us' I feel, as being like us is obviously beneficial from an evolutionary perspective. What I mean is that- A successful alien race would be bipedal, have the brain at the top of the body, have opposing thumbs, be warm blooded and give birth to live young. It has worked for humans, why shouldn't it work for aliens? In answer to your question- the odds of sentient life (like us) existing elswhere in the universe is both very high, and very small. So I will say...yes, why not?
  • No. Highly unlikely. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/7351428.stm http://www.universetoday.com/2008/04/19/the-odds-of-intelligent-life-in-the-universe/
  • Statistically speaking, it is virtually inevitable that there will be intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. But given the size of the universe (literally only comprehensible to humans by means of analogy) and the number of stars in it, it is very unlikely that we will ever be in any kind of contact with it.
  • Yes. It's almost unimaginable not to expet it to be. Drakes Equation gives an idea of the probablility for other life forms, by deducing the various prerequisites, for us any way, to contain life. This is an extremely conservative number, yet it's huge, and permeates throughout each "golden zone" or area most condusive for producimg amd maintaining life as we know it. It's situated on the "suburbs" of a galaxy, somewhere around two thirds out toward the e3dge
  • Very probably: the universe is so vast that the set of circumstances that produced us have probably occurred elsewhere. Provided, of course, that you interpret "like us" widely enough. Carbon based life based around liquid water, no weirder than some of the things we are still pulling out of the oceans, anyway.
  • That's the way to bet. There are so many stars and so many planets out there not just in our galaxy, which holds a number so enormous that it boggles the mind, but other galaxies as well, that it is virtually a sure thing. The number of stars and therefore planets is just too frigging large.
  • I believe that the aliens that put us on this planet in the first place will come back some day and take us home, at least that is what I have been told by the man in the blue jogging like uniform who makes us all ware the same type of suit and live in the same home and that when the time comes we will all drink the funky tasting blue liquid that will quietly send us all on our way in spirit form into the sky and into the flying saucer as it passes earth, The End or is that beginning? I love my cult lol Anyways, I quote a famous actress and actor from the movie Contact... Young Ellie Arroway: Dad, do you think there's people on other planets? Ted Arroway: I don't know, Sparks. But I guess I'd say if it is just us... seems like an awful waste of space. So yes, I do believe that their is some kind of other life forms but the circumstance would have to be just like ours, meaning closeness to a star that would allow a planet to have the right conditions to support life...
  • If Drakes Equation is Accurate then we should find Intelligent life or micro-organisms at some point in our history but for now I dont see that happening for awhile yet hopefully in the next 50 years plus with the new planet finder telescope thats being built we'll be able to find Earth sized Planets so have some faith we may encounter Alien life soon ^^. Also the Documentary Alien Planet is a Good insight into our possible exploration methods and the lifeforms we may encounter why we may encounter lifeforms that have bizzare bodies to us while we look bizzare to them though generally speaking I believe they'll have arms and hands as they're practical in Evolution.
