It's a bummer, but to be honest, I thought he died a few years ago.
-
Yeah, he was my favorite comedian.
-
Yes, he was a very funny man.
-
Yes...I liked the Hippy Dippy Mailman...
-
Yes, it's a sad day for us, but a great day for heaven. He's got them all in stitches, I'm sure.
-
Very much so... I've known his humor since the -70's, and was very sad when I read of his leaving us... it feels as if a little happiness has gone out of the world... he will be very, very missed...
-
My wife and I have spent many nights on the couch watching HBO specials or renting videos. My wife almost cried this morning when she found out.
-
He was a great comic and actor. He will be missed.
-
I will miss his cutting, edgy and sophisticated social commentary.
-
I owe so much of my best material to him. So long, George.
-
I would like to say 7 words in his honor. I can't, though, FCC standards, ya know. Rest in peace, bud. "The George Carlin Show" on FOX was one of the funniest sitcoms ever. Here's a toast at The Moylan Bar in his memory.
-
hm.. I've never heard about him, can you recommend a good website about him?
-
Yes.
-
Even though I haven't heard anything from him in over ten years, I will miss his wit. I will look through my old videos and try to find the Carnegie Hall show that was shown on HBO in 1983, a classic.
-
I watched "It's Bad for Ya" just a couple of weeks ago! I couldn't believe the news. I just feel like crying, what a great lose to the world.
-
I liked the hippie weatherman: here's the pollen count: 12345! Tomorrow's high: whenever I get up, man! He lived a good life. After he saw Lenny Bruce in a club, he decided he wanted to be a little more subversive than than the usual suit and tie comedians of the 60's. Man, did he ever succeed. See ya George!
-
Yes! He will be missed. Such a funny funny man!
-
I'm sooooooo sad...I watched as much of him as I could and read three of his books...I wish I would've been able to meet him...
-
Yes....I heard this morning, and it took me a few minutes to actually understand what I just heard. It felt like someone in my own family had died....yeah, I liked him a lot...a lot of my Answerbag questions come directly from his books.
-
i am sad but it was going to happen anyways and maybe he finally learned all he needed to learn and taught all he needed to teach... i love the fact that he has given us years and years of laughter to remember him by. i believe he is at peace with his imagination for he has found eternity... a man after me own heart. Rest in peace my brother

His death is truly the world's loss. He had the best sense of humor. I was so sad and stunned to hear of his death.
-
I like his bits, especially the ones on religion. What he says on the subject is true.
-
Yes. Hearing about it last night on the news made me sad. :-(
-
Yes... Been my favorite since Class Clown... I have used his material for punchlines for years. My favorite, when a new story comes out about something ELSE causing cancer, is: "Warning. Scientists have discovered that saliva causes cancer... But only if taken in small quantities over a LONG period of time." :-(
-
Yes, most certainly! I never even realized it until tonight, though. He was an awesome comedian!
-
WHAT!! T_T

Absolutely. He'll be missed, and I'm glad he made the mark on society that he did. "Those who dance are considered crazy by those who can't hear the music" George Carlin
-
"What was the best thing before sliced bread?" - George Carlin Absolutley. I loved his humor and wit. I could not believe that he was gone when I heard it. I knew it would be likely that he would pass within the next few years, I just can't believe it is so soon. "Isn't it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do "practice"?" - George Carlin
-

-
I feel bad, real quirky kind of humor...
-
Yeah for there will be others that will try to copy him but there will be no one that could tell a good story without stopping to think of the details. There will never be a fighter such as he but there will be others who will try to imitate him. I will also miss how much he had hated society and social acceptable conduct. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/820996
