  • DID is Dissociative Identity Disorder. It used to be call MPD or Multiple Personality Disorder. It is not in any ways related to schizophrenia. DID occurs when a child between the ages of birth and eight suffers extreme and severe abuse or trauma. The child's mind can't handle the emotions/pain that come with the abuse so the mind splits into 2 or more personalities. The worse the abuse the more the mind splits. There is a famous film "Sybil" about DID. Like most things in Hollywood the movie greatly exaggerates. ADHD is not a personality disorder. It is a condition where kids and adults have difficulty sitting still and concentrating. ADHD is a organic disorder. This means that people are born with it and you can never give or make someone ADHD.
