How come when you follow a link to a website the URL is different than what you would type in? For example, to get to google, you can type www.google.com, but if you use the link on the google toolbar the URL is http://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=nav...

Its know as a redirect. Much easier to redirect to a new page, than to constantly make folks change the bookmark URL
