Mexico is a big country, depends on the region. But I am rather sure the drugs will be cheaper.

The way North.

Do you have any idea where in Mexico you're going? Do you speak any Spanish? What method of transportation are you going to be using? How old are you and what's the number, ages and gender of any travel companions?

Well, first bear in mind that Mexico is about 1/3 the size of the lower 48 United States in terms of size and population. It has frontange on two oceans and borders on three countries. So it's big. So, without knowing where you're going discussing tourist attractions and dangers is problematic. It would be like telling someone to be sure to go to Disnsyland when they're really going to Kansas and telling to to watch out for Grizzly Bears when they're really going to Harlem. That said-there are things to see and due ranging from world class contemporary art and architecture to magnicant natural scenery and pre-Columbia ruins. All depends on where you are. There are serious drug wars along the US border to about as far south as Monterry and along major resort states of the Pacific coast. There's an armed rebellion in the Southern part of the country. When you say discounts on drugs I'm assuming you're talking about pharmatcuticals not recreationals. Many U.S. perscription drugs are available over the counter or through a "house" doctor at approximately 20-60% of U.S. cost. Bringing them into the country violates Federal Control Substances (drug) laws as well as the laws of the state into which you bring them. Lying to the U.S. Customs officer at the port of entry is a separate Federal crime. Lot's of people bring drugs in but it's illegal as hell. Continuing on, bear in mind that although the big cities are very cosmopolitan Mexico is essentially a conservative Catholic country. Here again, Mexico City is as different from the countryside as rural North Dakota is from New York City. Don't dress like sluts or tourists and don't you or the kids act like a bunch of jackasses. Although English is somewhat common there are still plenty of people around who don't speak Spanish, at least not as you'd know it. If communication issues arise they're hearing doesn't improve if you raise your voice. And never, ever forget that you're a guest in their country and a lot of them still remember that a meaningful percentage of the United States was stolen from Mexico. I suggest you by one or more of the standard guidebooks. If you don't want to spend the money yet you might check out www.fodors.com as a starting point.
