Then you'd have to ask them and find out if they want to be treated like crap. I have a friend who told me he likes people being mean and picking on him, because it means they know he's there. So I guess if it works, it works.

The Golden Rule can be applied without asking anyone except yourself. But I suggest you don't apply it if you are a masochist...

I can't agree with Jesus. My theory is we should treat others human-right-ly. According to Jefferson: universal human rights of life, liberty, and persuit of happiness. I should say, *** first, it's your own human rights -- which riquires you to 1. buttom action: defend your right and treat potential offenders tacticfully 2. upper action: make others benefiting to your human rights *** second, it's for others' human rights. If you wanna to be a civilized person, not a devil, you should respect the other's human rights if the other is a naturally free person. it would be a bit difficult to treat every single person like a queen or a king because everyone likes to be treated extra-ordinarily.
