  • I don't have one (I have a Sony 3000)but most hard disk MP3 players (i.e. most types of IPOD and other makes) use their own software to transfer music files. If you have music CDs you can 'rip' music from them into mp3 files onto your computer using e.g. windows media player. If you use microsoft windows you should have this program installed. Simply go to the rip tab after inserting a CD, select the songs you want to rip and click rip music. You can change the settings - where the files are stored, quality etc - if you want in a different menu. Alternatively you can use Itunes (Expensive) or some other file sharing program to get mp3 files from the internet. Once you have these files, to put them onto the ipod you need to install whatever computer program came with your ipod, and conect the ipod to your comuter using the supplied USB cable. Then use the program supplied to transfer the files across.
