I work for GM at their automotive proving grounds. My job is to take brand new cars, tear them apart and install new systems and components in them so we can decide if it is something we want to put on our production cars. I currently am working on a Corvette Z06, a Caddilac STS-V, a Pontiac Solstice, a regular STS and a few sport utility vehicles. I get to see vehicles way before they ar released to the public, drive all kinds of cars and trucks and can do it on 130 miles of test roads including a high banked oval and a full blown race track.. I LOVE my job.

I love my job, I'm a speech therapist............Speech Therapy focuses on receptive language, or the ability to understand words spoken to you, and expressive language, or the ability to use words to express yourself. It also deals with the mechanics of producing words, such as articulation, pitch, fluency, and volume. Adults may need speech therapy after a stroke or traumatic accident that changes their ability to use language; for children, it generally involves pursuing milestones that have been delayed. Some children only need help with language, others have the most problems with the mechanics of speech, and some need every kind of speech help there is. We work to find fun activities to strengthen your child in areas of weakness. For mechanics, this might involve exercises to strengthen the tongue and lips, such as blowing on whistles or licking up Cheerios. For language, this might involve games to stimulate word retrieval, comprehension or conversation.

I am substitute teacher. Love my hours. I can choose when I want to want, grades/classes I want to work. However the pay sucks. I basically get minimum wage to babysit from 30-200 kids a day. It can be very rewarding but it's very tough. younger ages are easier often because you can "threaten to tell the teacher" and they obey.. when you get an older group..they don't care and they will tell you that. YOu can't make them do homework or listen. Older kids think they know everything and that you are an idiot (ask any teen.. they will tell you that adults are idiots). If I have a class that is elective like music it's easier because those students want to be there and they pretty much are easier to handle but if I have a class that everyone HAS to have like history than students ..some students resent being there and won't work. I guess the hardest part is the discipline issues: I have had students flat out say "I won't do it and you can't make it..they have cursed at me and everything else" and nothing I can do. Schools can only do so much.. they can suspend them but if the kid hates school, that's what they want and parents refuse to discipline and then blame the school when kids turn out bad. I do love my job though. I have been doing in since 1989.
