Yes; I am associated with a good deal of intelligent people with high values. I don't associate with the riff raff out there as there is no remedy to these lot. I prefer people that are nice, smart and good matured.

Yes... to an extent. I'd like to think that my friends and confidants are all kind, respectful, and genuine. I choose my friends wisely, in this regard. With regards to other aspects of their personalities and values... I say "to each his own," whether they're straight or gay, atheist or Christian, outgoing or socially retarded. I think we all bring something interesting into the mix.

Yes - to some extent. Right now, I associate with my employees. I don't have the same beliefs and values as them (largely) but my association with them DOES reflect that I view treating my employees well as a priority. I associate with alot of new mothers - I can't say I even like them all - but it reflects my present stage in life. I agree that we typically do surround ourselves with our own kind - water seeks its own level - but I don't think it is the end-all be-all in understanding our social values.

To some degree, although I have friends who are much different than I am, but still have their values of respect of person. Their beliefs are as important to them as mine are to me, the importance is that we respect each others. The reflection I see is of kindness, the ability to agree to disagree with respect, and the ability to see what's in someones heart not just what others say or think, but what they find to be truth.
