That depends on the rating. I think Hendrix was a brilliantly innovative artist and guitarist. Major guitarist Jeff Beck said that hearing Hendrix inspired him to resume his playing with the enthusiasm that he lost when he left the Yardbirds. To say that Jimi was the best guitarist ever would be overrating him. Hendrix was a great player but IMO Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Johnny Winter are better than he was.

Not me. If you grew up in that era maybe you would feel differently. Maybe. We used to do a lot of LSD and listen to Jimi.

I do, but I never heard him live so I don't know. It just seems there are a whole slew of axe-handlers who just SOUND better to me.
