Mine doesn't. It may appear to grow thicker because the hairs aren't so heavy once cut, so stand up more, giving the appearance of thicker hair for a while.

No, you only have so many hair follicles on your head and you can't grow more follicles. Any hair outside of the skin is dead, so anything you do to it won't change it.When hair is cut, the ends are blunt so it can seem thicker.
