WOW. That was tactless. Making rash generalizations of certain groups of people wont get you far. Every rule has its exceptions, and theres no reason to offend catholics who are decent people, for there are many of them.

i have encountered many polite and good natured people who happen to be catholic. it's sad the ones you have met have not left a good impression on you. maybe it's just a local thing and not based on religion?

Actually We are not. I am catholic and Im not rude. Your being very bias and you have to realize that all of them arent. SO MOther Teresa and Pope John Paul The 11 were rude as well didnt think so hunny Next time just try and rephrase your question like heres an idea WHy is it most of Catholic people I meet tend to be so rude. I definitely think there are some rude Catholics out there. But then again there are rude people of all religions, race, and sex out there. However, I went to Catholic school for six years and it is something I would not like to do again. I am not Catholic myself.

I get what you're saying, I have many Catholic friends who are admittingly rude, (they are very open about it) but you might want to rephrase your question. Looks like you got alot of people angry.

Because they can't figure out why there was so much debate about who the new pope would be. Why not just ask God? Didn't the previous Pope intercede for all of them?! I'd be ticked too if I was duped into thinking he actually heard back from God! Obviously NOT!!

I've known a great many Catholics in my life, and only a handful I've known were rude. Actually, from my experience Catholics tend to be a whole lot less judgmental and condemning of other religions.

Because they're self righteous know it all pricks who think everything they say is right when clearly it's not. I've met ONE catholic who isn't rude. ONE. Out of how many hundred? Enough that I can make an accurate statement. And every one of them has the attitude that they're better than everyone else. Even those of them that say they aren't say it in such a way or such language that it negates what they actually said.

I wasnt saying anything about your sarcasm. I have no problem with it. I didnt understand why other people did. I'd rather have people tell me what they think than try and spare my feelings.

That is so not true, religion has nothing to do with manners, some of the catholics i have meet are the nicest people you could find, that is just a generalization, like saying all atheist are evil or all wiccans worship the devil those things are not true either but some people believe they are just because they dont take the time to look beyond labels and stereotypes.

After reading all the answers and comments I was tempted to ignore this question. Those that were offended by the VERY RUDE question are snapped at by others. But I will not be insulted by anyone. Not for my intelligence, not for my humor, and definitely not for my religion. If you do not like catholics, so be it. But maybe you should back your statements with facts instead of anger. I wonder...if I asked this same question, but substituted the word "catholic" for the word gay, or black, or presbiterian, or military, or ignorant, or unemployed.....I could go on for days...how would you react, K Shaw?
