  • A woman's ovum can live for 24 hours after being released from the ovary. Sperm can reach the ovum in anywhere between 5 minutes to 5 hours. Once the sperm reaches the fallopian tubes, it can live up to 2-3 days. That means that a woman can get pregnant only 24 hours after they ovulate, but sperm from 3 days before ovulation can still work.
