Did you ever make a homemade fishing rod as a kid from a tree branch and a piece of fishing line? Did you catch anything with it?

Yes I did. I suppose my grandpa probably helped a little. I was five and caught my first fish with it. Took it home and put it in the dog's water dish, where it promptly died.
