Would you find it more embarrassing to trip down a flight of stairs, or to trip down an escalator? (BTW, my 500th question)

Probably down an escalator. Think about, at least on the stairs you're walking, therefore making sense if you misstep. When you're on an escalator, you don't even need to walk, so you trip just by not being able to balance your own weight!

I just think it's embarrassing when my husband gets scared that he'll get halfway up the escalator and the power will go out...THEN WHAT?

The escalator would be worse. I knew this klutz who fell down an up escalator.. It lasted an hour and a half!! ;^) Happy 500th!!

Much of a muchness really...but at least on an escalator you could say, "Hey that thing moves to fast!" or something. :P So I'd have to go with the stairs.

I tripped, rolled down a Moving Escalator.... was bloody and bruised by the time I hit Bottm !! was a bad .. ok.. Really Bad Experience !!(((((( CONGRATS ON 500TH)))))))

haha i like the up a flight of stairs comment which i have done plenty of times. how does that happen BTW?? i think falling down an escalator would be pretty bad. when i was lil i was so scared of those things i would have to sit down on them. i would also have to sit down on the stairs and slowly make my way to the bottom, i must remind u i was about 5.
