Is organic lettuce more likely to contain e coli bacteria than non-organic lettuce?

    It's in the water system and think about it...do you think the folks who's job it is to harvest the lettuce run to a bathroom each time they have to go?...have you seen acres of lettuce fields and an occassional port-a potty? no, they just go when they have to and where they are since there's no other alternative really and that's not sanitary. I think more things should be grown hydroponically, the lettuce I buy is and I feel safe it's clean and free of pesticides.

    Just so you know possum recently they've now said the same thinkg about spinach. It really doesn't matter if its organic or not for the disease. It usually happens because of conataminated water or other contaminated things.

    it was spinach that had the col-bacteria....and probabley be organic if lettuce did have the bacteria.
