I always wondered this, and I might have to say it is close, but I dont know. I will say all that have died, but not by too much, less than 100 million within each other i would say

Actually, there are more people alive now than have ever lived before now. I'm not sure how long ago we passed it, but I'm pretty sure we have. There was a science fiction story about it some years ago called "The Vitanulls". It's a good read, if you can find it.

Wasn't there an expression "Behind each man stands thirty ghosts" - there are thirty times more dead people in the history of the world than the current population?
