Yeah, they do. But the differences are purely superficial (i.e. smell, texture), and they're only marketed separately because people seem to believe that there is some magical difference between women and men that requires apartheid-like separation at every given opportunity. The only difference I can think of would be to accomodate facial hair (not that all women do without that). There would be little advantage in buying either sort, other than the price, which would be, as with all things, more expensive for women than men.

The one major difference you will find is that cleansing washes marketed to women often tend to be designed with the goal of removing make-up, something that generally isn't so much of a concern for men (the men I know who do wear make-up use women's cleansers!). Other than that the differences are mainly cosmetic (smell, packaging) - the more expensive ones will often claim to be "especially designed to work with the natural balance of a man's skin." but this is usually blurb that won't make a great deal of noticable difference. There are some washes which are designed for "pre-shave use" for men (I used one on my legs once and to be honest I think its a con, didn't do much more than shower gel) As a general rule, if a woman (or a man) wants to use a wash to help remove make-up, she should opt for a female-marketed product - or at least one that states its designed for the purpose. If a man, or non-make up wearing woman wants to use a wash, I don't think it much matters whether its primarily sold for men or women.

The cleansing action of most shaving foam cleanses a mans face and pores. Though it is not a deep cleansing, when a razor is applied the action scraps away most if not all dead skin cells and dirt. Aftershave that is alcohol based kills off any infecting bacteria that may invade a pore or hair follicle and cause an infection or ingrown hair. Most men have lately been using other products as of late like the Nivea line, or Noxema.

The only difference is the smell/packaging,male/female skin is identical and contains the same layers(strata's).
