Its really a case of trial and error. Different washes seem to suit different people- and even that whole "what skin type are you?" thing doesn't work, because some people have greasy skin that benefits from an astringent such as sacylic acid or tea tree oil, whereas others find it just irritates the skin. The main thing to remember with clearing up skin is that if an over-the-counter spot treatment hasn't worked in six weeks (the time it takes for the skin to completely renew) it isn't going to. If you've tried three or four different washes with no noticable improvement, it may be time to see a doctor about the problem. I tend to think that the best way to go with face wash is to avoid unnecessary ingredients such as perfumes and excessive colours. The shorter the ingredients list, the better- many face washes contain a cocktail of twenty or more chemical ingredients and you could potentially be sensitive to any one of these. (I once read that the average woman exposes her skin to over 200 different chemicals a day through her beauty regime!)If you limit the number of ingredients you come into contact with, you reduce your risk of an adverse reaction, and also will be more likely to identify the culprit should a reaction occur (and avoid in future). Washes containing soap are often quite drying, so only use if you have very greasy skin. Look out for formulas which claim to be "PH balanced" "gentle" or "for sensitive skin" and designed to work with (rather than cut through) the skin's natural protective oils. Using a wash that strips your skin of oil can be counter-productive as your skin will often respond by producing yet more oil to replace those you've just stripped away.

There is no facial scrub which can beautify your skin as it claims it can. My advice - don't waste money it. I have spent no less than US$2,000 on those scrubs, tried different brands over a period of time. Nothing happen. So, if you have money to spend on those things, eat healthy food, fruits. Don't boost those scandolous skincare corporations.
