  • Cute dude, or car? I wouldn't know about the cute dude, but I would suspect they would burn out rather young. The car, I know. They are good and many are still excellent cars with good gas mileage, few mechanical troubles and affordable comfort. I wish they were still making them. I would buy a new one.
  • Well let's see...The last escort that I had lasted about 5 hours before she got to tired to keep going. Plus I was starting to run out of money at 200.00 an hour escorts are not cheap at all.
  • The early ones? About 50,000 miles. That was about when the timing belt would break the first time. They also had issues with the distributor, the water jackets, the radiator, the front end. Oh, I particularly liked the way the valve cover screws would vibrate themselves loose. You had to keep an 8mm wrench in the glove box and tighten them every few days, or it would start squirting oil all over the spark plug wires... But they were almost as good in snow as a 4 x 4. they had a really solid body. I got rear-ended in mine three times. Only the third one, who hit me at nearly forty mph without touching his brakes, did any damage. That one bent the back end down about a half inch, but the car was still drivable and the back hatch still worked.
