  • No, I have one that does that, also. He has a real "pet me, don't pet me attitude". He butts up against me or paws at me to pet him, then when I do, he smacks me or hisses at me. No one can ever truly understand why cats do anything they do. Yours, you say, does this when he comes in from outside. My guess is, if he's male, there are other tom cats in the area, and he's feeling competition. The scent of other cats makes cats do crazy things. Is he a tom or neutered? If he's not neutered, getting him fixed will probably help that behavior.
  • I would'nt worry if I were you. Cats can be unpredictable creatures!! I have a stray that used to growl while eating the food! It stopped doing this after it was getting fed every day. I think the poor thing was just saying "Hey, I am starving, back away while I'm eating!" After a few good meals it stopped doing this.
  • no cats are the most fickly animals to have as pets kd is right about toms but hey sometimes cats are just picky seen cats after they clean themselves that will claw you or bite just because they dont want to be petted you can pet them all the way up to that point might even bug you to get petted but then once they clean themselves not just got clean you not messing me up lol
