Exxon Mobil has said that their retail outlets are not profitable. If this is true how could anyone buy one and expect to make money?

    The insane profits from the petrol more than make up for any minor loss from the retail portion.

    Add a convenience store... Sell cigarettes, candy, pop, easy-to-carry (hand-held) food, energy drinks, headache tabs, a few small cheap toys, etc. THAT'S probably where you will make your money.
