males usually have longer tails tucked in at their side. the one on the right is a male btw. dont ever do that to your turtle !!!

The male has a fat tail and long front claws, the female has the opposite, thin tail , short front claws.

IF YOU LOOK ON THE BOTTOM OF THE TURTLE THE MALES SHELL WILL GO UP AND THE FEMALES WOULD BE FLAT
