  • Left hand, fourth finger. The one between the social finger and the pinkie. I BELIEVE an exception is made with someone who is left handed.
  • Left hand if you are in Britain, Canada, the US and most other countries, but in some countries in Europe and perhaps other countries, it goes on the right hand, the one next to the pinky (on both hands). Most European countries actually wear it on the right hand, Germany, Greece, France....Scandinavian countries. Those who wear it on the left hand usually have just adopted American and British traditions. But traditionally most European cultures. http://www.hudsonvalleyweddings.com/guide/rings.htm http://www.chicagomarriage.com/wedding_traditions.htm http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/weddingstory/articles/greek_07_01.html
  • I always thought that it was the right hand when you got engaged and then when you got married you switched to the left hand.
  • when you engaged, you put the ring on the right hand.. then when you married, you switch to the left hand.. Reason: it is because that fingure (next to pinky on the left) is the least usuful one compared to other 9 fingures...
  • excellent advice. i was confused on what finger the wedding ring went on as well. but now i know. thanks.
  • Why is it switched? Why not have the big rock on your left ring finger and wedding ring?
  • you are still not helping me because everyone has different opinions and I still dont know which hand to put my engagement ring on so is it the left?
  • LEFT. It's the LEFT. Honest, it's the left. Still don't believe me? It's NOT the right, it's the left.
  • im hoping left im askin her tomorrow =D im hopin she says yes!!!
  • now being married twice and engaged a few more times ... you would think I would know this ... now let me see...um.......
  • well i thought that you wore it on the right and then after the wedding you switched it back... i'm still confused, my cousin, my fiance and his mom all say right and everyone else i know says left. why does it have to be so complicated? if i wear it on my right at work everyone says somethin but if i wear it on my left at home or around his mom they say something which way is actually right???
  • Left hand, third finger(next to the pinky), just like a wedding ring,...at least in most western cultures.
  • I'm trying to figure that out too. Which hand? I played a game with my fiance and my cousins a week or so ago, the game was Battle of the Sexes, well anyways, us girls asked the guys that question and the answer was right at engagement, then it switches to the left once your married.
  • Your Fiancee's hand. J/K
  • Okay guys, the engagement ring goes on the Left hand on the ring finger (the one right next to the pinky). Basically it is because it is "reserving" that "space" for the wedding band. And of course it stears all the guys away from your girl when they see it there! lol! But yes, it goes on the left hand, traditionaly.
  • As most of the answers above have said, in most countries the engagement ring traditionally goes on the left hand. It does however move to the right hand on the day of the wedding so that it doesn't 'get in the way' of the wedding band. After the wedding ceremony the engagement ring then goes back to the left hand on top of the wedding band, that is to say that the engagement ring is the closer of the two ring to the tip of your finger.
  • I'm pretty sure It the left. That's where I used to wear mine.
  • The left..
  • Engagement ring should be on your left hand's ring finger between middle finger and little finger.
  • WHICH FINGER AND HAND DOSE A KUSDISH MAN WHERE HIS ENEGAGEMENT RING
  • ring finger, left hand
  • Left hand fourth Finger.. Some say that this finger is directly linked to your heart somehow... Not sure how but it sounds sweet!
  • Left had the ring finger the one in between the middle and pinkie finger.
  • left hand finger in between middle and pinky
  • The engagement ring goes on the left and on the ring finger, the one right next to the pinky, if by chance you have more than five fingers on your hand its the one to the right of your pinky. The reason for this is that there is a vein in that particular finger than leads directly to the heart, and you keep your loved one as close to your heart as possible, also when you finally walk down the aisle, the wedding band goes on the inside of the engagement ring so that it is the closest to the heart of the two rings. hope that helps. Also, i just proposed to the love of my life this evening, and she said YES, i am so happy i could cry.
  • The one you want to cut off so you can get it back:)....it's the left ring finger.
  • It realy depends on if the person is right or left handed... A right handed person would wear the betrothal ring on the third finger of the left hand For those of us who are left handed it's the opposite hand
  • did she say yes???
