We can take in many different things, but unless we can view them from different perspectives, we will miss much of it. Many 'discoveries' are actually things that have been seen many times, just in a different light.

In a modern, every day sense... it reminds me of my husband's boss telling me about his trip to Europe last summer. The only thing he really had to say was "The food was terrible. McDonalds didn't taste like McDonalds..." He traveled halfway around the world, and was looking only for what was familiar to him, instead of taking in everything he had never seen or experienced before. You can travel your whole life, but until you open yourself to the unknown, you haven't really been anywhere.

I believe it is something to do with those Russian Cruise Ships where you can have your eye sight corrected.
