Why are they selling blended ethanol/gas at the same price per gallon as straight gas when ethanol only has two thirds of the BTU's available as straight gasoline? They should have separate pumps like diesel fuel!

Why should anyone have to pay the full price for watered down fuel? With ethanol you lose miles that you can drive! This passing off ethanol as gas is illegal and the weights and measures divisions of every state in the nation should refuse to permit its sale unless it's in specific pumps with a different price!

I believe the object of ethanol blending is not to lower the price of gasoline, but rather to increase the availibity, to make more or extend regular gasoline for use in automobiles. I understand its actually expensive or more so, to make the ethanol to blend with gasoline. At present, the maximum allowed blending of ethanol is 10%.
