Not necessarily. The thought may be beautiful, but poets are as different from each other as any other group of people. There can be terrible poets, too. I would not want to be ruled by a terrible poet. there have been poets as rulers of nations - Senghor in Senegal or Vaclav Havel in the Czech Republic. They were not better of worse than other leaders, just because they were poets.

If we lived under such a form of governence that allowed there to be a 'President of the World', I doubt any poet could make things better. The Secretary General of the UN is as close as we're getting to that, and I like that position just fine (although I preferred Kofi Annan to Ki-Moon).

It would make no difference. You'll just trade one set of problems for other kinds of problems. Poets don't make good rulers or leaders and they are just as dishonest, manipulative, greedy, evil, good, idealistic as any other human
