  • 10 years ago, my abortion cost $450. The fee differed based upon the type of anethesia you wanted...and TRUST ME...you WANT anethesia. (General anethesia, sub-twilight anethesia - you aren't completely under, but it's general, local, or none) I paid to be put totally under. I was in recovery with girls who couldn't afford that...or in some cases, couldn't afford the anethesia at all. They were in some serious pain. http://www.guttmacher.org/in-the-know/cost.html Please note that this information is likely USA-specific.
  • Uk or USA? Uk free on the NHS or your doctor could also send you private for free. DON'T listen to "motherofthreegirls", accidents happen. Keep strong!
  • First of all, it was out of curiosity. Im not like that at all. My religon doesnt allow anything like that.
  • i had one 5 years ago and when i called around it depended on weather they did ultra sounds or not the one i went with was $750.00 no untral sound just the seaweed and the anethesia and some pain pills to go home with good luck
  • The life of a child, and potentially the mental health of the would be mother and father. (yeah, I know I'll get negative) ADD: In Oregon, its around $50.00 and despite the fact schools can't give you aspirin without parental consent, teen girls can have an abortion without even parental notification.
  • In the UK, an abortion is free, although there can be waiting lists that mean you need a surgical rather than medical procedure, so a lot of women go private, which can be quite costly- which i think is disgusting- if a woman has a legal right to a nhs abortion (make that any medical procedure)than she should be able to have one. dont get me started on the US situation where a woman may have to travel long distances to the one abortion provider in her state and pay for the privelege; no wonder there are unwanted babies facing a life of relative-poverty.
  • In Canada abortion is also free...or at least paid for by the taxpayers. They can be performed within a few days, in a hopsital, with anasthesia and an ultra-sound. Though they only give you minimal recovery time (an hour or so) and don't help you figure out how to get home.
  • I had one done at planned parenthood almost a year ago and it cost about $550 for everything. But think about what your doing first because i regret it and am depressed all the time about it even after seeking professional help. But my mom made me do it cause she didnt care about what i wanted and now guess whos left with the heart break.
  • It depends which country you are in and if you have medical grounds for an abortion. In England if you have medical or psychological grounds you would not have to pay if 2 doctors agreed it was detrimental for you to have a child
  • yes it does. it depends on how many months the baby is. the more months it is the more expensive it costs
  • Washu, I saw your answer in which you explained that you were asking just because you are curious. The answers you've gotten are a good lesson on why it's best to do your own research sometimes. People have told you everything from "free" up to several hundred dollars. And of course, everyone of them is probably (but not certainly) telling you the truth about what it costs in their area, under their circumstances. The cost varies by: a. -- whether you have insurance, or, like Canadians, are covered by a national health care plan b. -- whether the clinic offers reduced rates for the poor c. -- what the doctor wants to charge; this can vary a lot, depending on whether she/he has negotiated a price schedule with insurance companies, other subsidy programs, or is setting the price on their own. If there is not a clinic in your area, you have to add in the cost of travel and, in states where anti-choice groups have been successful in demanding a "waiting period," the price of a hotel for several nights -- and the cost of your lost wages while you sit in that hotel. The fastest way to do this research is to call your local Planned Parenthood office and ask them what providers in your area charge, and if they charge on a "sliding scale" (which means less for people who are poor).
  • The lives of millions of innocent children, most of whom where simpily not convienient to their parent(s) I have to also say that lots of abortions occur without the father knowing or conscenting because apparently fathers have no rights in this country except those rights which are granted to them by the child's mother.
  • It seems the price varies from state to state. I know here in VA, you can expect to pay $300-$350 at Planned Parenthood (which is the most reasonable place to go, in my opinion. they'll even write you a prescription for birth control pills you can buy from them for $18 a pack! it's a steal) depending on which anesthesia you go for. Here in VA you can still get a late-term abortion, too. Those are much costlier, around $3,000.
  • Free in Canada.
  • i dont know how much abortions cost but I do know that adoption is free!
  • i live in Toronto, and they are relatively cheap here.. around 100 dollars. some sex clinics might be able to help you find less costly ones or even covered depending where you live.
  • A life
  • UK: Nothing - it's done on the NHS.
  • why are you going to do that i mean you were the one that was horny and when you started having sex you should have been aware of the consequences :(
  • A life no clue on the monetary cost, Please think long and hard! Look around this site in just browsing I came upon 2 posts with people seeking to adopt a child. Most times in a situation like that your medical expenses will be paid and you are giving your unborn child all the opportunities you had in your life by bringing them into this world.
  • Setting aside any arguments about morality for a moment... Alot more then you think. It is cheaper, in purely monetary terms, to give birth. Carry your child to term. You can place it up for adoption at birth, or, if you have difficulties with that, drop it off in a carry cot outside a fire department or police station. These areas are designated "Safe Baby Drops" for exactly this purpose.
  • It depends on where you live. www.abortion.com pretty much has a lot of information...judging by the links on the side anyway. I didn't do a full investigation into it. Google "(name of country) abortion cost" and it'll bring up a ton of results.
  • Pretty damn cheap, under 1$.
  • im just wondering... does it feel good for all of you so called doctor who do abortion feel good about themselves?? " ohh look honey i make $300..." " son do you want to got to work with me today... and see what your dad does... maybe some day you want to do the same thing?" I THINK IT ONE OF THE MOST STUPID THING ANYONE ONE CAN DO!! NO ONE WITH ANY SENSE, A BRAIN, OR FEELING WOULD DO THAT!! I KNOW IT'S A HARD DECISION.. BUT DID GOD SAID "
  • The question is merely the cost. I highly doubt this individual felt they needed a moral lesson. In all honestly if God were to play a role in it all - I don't think he would be as judgmental as all of you. In fact, if there is a God I doubt he is as negative as most pro-lifers. I would much rather have a women get an abortion who is not ready to provide a safe and nurturing environment for a child than to keep it, and once again fill Mother Nature's space with ignorant offspring who will only continue to consume and damage the world they keep taking advantage of. Human beings are insignificant and pointless in the world. We do nothing to help it and therefore, we are a disease and deserve to go extinct!
  • I'm sure that would vary from state to state just like all medical procedures.
  • I'm not for sure what the cost to MURDER / SLAUGHTER an innocent baby is ... BUT; there are some clinics that do it for FREE .... People seem to FORGET about the Morning After Pill .... BUT; It does vary from area to area and organization etc ...
  • Do you mean like cost of the medical procedure or the moral cost, the medical cost varies from state to state and nation to nation and there isn't any moral cost.
  • A life full of "WHAT IF".
