  • I am a microbiologist and a nail fungus is very hard to get rid of. The roots of the fungus usually extend down into the skin and the fungus comes back. I would still be using an antifungal cream on it twice daily. Actually the best to get is a woman's vaginal yeast cream as it is usually stronger than the foot creams. Get either micronidazole or clotrimazol. A very old remedy that is effective is to put 1/4 cup bleach in a gallon of very warm water. Soak your foot in it 10-15 minutes nightly for a week. Some people are sensitive to the bleach so rinse your foot off with regular water afterwards. Keep you foot dry with lots of air circulation to help prevent reoccurrence. Good luck
