That's because they use socialism too widely. They drain their people through taxes and then give everything away "free", even to non-citizens. See, in Canada, there's about a month's wait to see a doctor, and a couple days if there's an emergency. However, Canadian liberalism has pushed it to the point that non-citizens and illegal aliens receive their medical care BEFORE citizens do! I'm really hoping this doesn't happen to us, but I'm afraid it's coming...

Rottweiler, I think you have your priorities set in the wrong way. In the US what happens if you don't have the money to go to the doctor? You don't go. But what happens if you don't have the money in Canada to go to the doctor? Guess what, you can still go. And no, I do not have to wait a month to see a doctor. The only wait I would have is if it was a high demand specialist. And no if it's an emergency they will get all the help that they need. And even though I can't speak for everyone in this country, I am fine with waiting for treatment if its a non-life threatening situation. Sure, your country is rich and the economy is booming but at what price? Is it actually that important that only a percentage of your population live comfortably and the rest are in poverty? How many of your citizens can afford to see the doctor and get the drugs and the hospital procedures they need? If you think its fair for the disadvantaged to be deprived of these services, then I'm sure you love living in your country. But I prefer to see people live as equally as possible, and even though our health care system has its flaws, I think its the better option. And to answer your question of why Canada is poor compared to the USA, I don't think that's a simple question. For one the USA has a larger population and has more productive land. Most of Canada's land is not habitable (its ice) or its forest land. Canada is just different. We have different priorities and different things going for us. If you want to ask this question, you also need to ask why all the other countries are poor. There is no need to think that all countries want to be like USA. rate me low, i don't care, but you have to realize that everything in the USA is not the best thing in the world

I don't think Canada sold weapons to other countries during World Wars as US did to make as much money as possible. But I am wondering if the money they make by selling weapons is more important than other people's life. Is it morally better to sell them than drugs? You'd better ask the government that respects the Human Rights. Iam not sure if Canada attacks another country to get cheap oil.

One major issue that is preventing Canada from a larger annual budget would be population. That's why we're making so many deals to encourage immagration. We're also alot more strict with corporations :) For the records, the US isn't alot wealthier than Canada. Our global debt is about 600 billion, whereas US is 8.5 trillion.

Honestly, what does Canada make?

poor?... not from what I know of Canada , I have many Canadian friends and all say their standard of living is quite good . If your compairing Canada to the U.S. on how much each country makes per year that mainly has to do with the population difference the GDP but if you look at the amount of debt between the both countries then Canada is is not poor at all ... whats the U.S. debt at this time ? 10% of GDP ... Canada is no where near that
